Pear Cobbler


4 cups sliced pears (1 qt. canned pears from mom)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch nutmeg (optional)
1 1/2 cups JIFFY baking mix
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
3 tbsp melted butter

Preheat oven to 400.
Grease a 1 qt. baking dish (9 x 9).
Combine pears, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, pour into baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients until blended and drop by spoonful onto fruit. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake 10 minutes or until fruit is tender.

This recipe is from the back of a JIFFY baking mix box. Any fruit may be substituted, fresh is best.
